Volunteerism A powerful means for bringing more people into the fold. It’s the policy or practice of volunteering one’s time or talents for charitable, educational, or other worthwhile activities, especially in one’s community. Volunteers are not paid not because they are worthless but because they are priceless. When you volunteer, you are not paid in money or recognition, you are paid in love, people may forgot what you said, and people may forget what you did, but they will never forget to how it made them fell. So our today’s hero also has got paid in extreme love and truly feels what they feel Mr. Qadir Looni (President of Mustang Welfare Forum/Social Work Club).
The story of our today’s hero starts with his first breath which he took so he was born on 21 Mar 1975 in the beautiful valleys of Killi Malik Essazai, Loralai. Mr. Qadirhad done his B.Sc Honors in Petroleum Engineering from University of Engineering & Technology, Lahore and Short Technical Courses of Petroleum Engineering from Aberdeen‐UK, Houston‐USA.
As an every story of life the destination itself pulls the person to itself and same is with our hero as narrated by Mr. Qadir After completing his college degree from Cadet College Mastung he joined Pakistan Airforce in 1996 so at the time he also had some information on petroleum engineering & continued his research on it while serving air force. The planning and design ways of extracting and transporting petroleum from deposits beneath the seabed or underneath the earth to surface attracted and persuaded him extremely to take petroleum engineering as career so Mr. Qadir Quit air force & got admission in petroleum engineering UET Lahore University of Engineering & Technology but still that was not case another interest in petroleum engineering was also to help family financially & be able to complete sibling’s educations which are achieved nowadays by our hero.
Now coming to our hero’s Career Portion of life Mr. Qadir has served many companies with his excellent work he started job in 2000 & worked with British based company called LASMO Oil in Karachi from 2000 to 2004 as “Drilling Engineer” for managing the safe and efficient drilling of wells to procure oil or gas. From 2004 to 2006 worked with MOL group in Islamabad as Drilling Supervisor in charge of the drill site, to ensure that drilling work is completed properly and on schedule. 2006‐2013 worked in Arabian Sea in Middle East as Offshore Drilling Engineer to Develops and Planned, Supervised the operations necessary for drilling oil wells. He also was involved from the initial well design to Drilling, Testing, Completion and Abandonment. 2013‐2015 worked with PETROM in Black Sea Romania. In Europe Mr. Qadir served as Senior Drilling Engineer & Drilling Superintendent Administering Drilling Engineering Design which again also includes the planning of wells and supervising the drilling crew on site and from 2015 till now Mr. Qadir is working in Arabian Sea in Middle East with world most reputable organization as Senior Drilling Engineer to Plan & Supervise Drilling Operation.
So the portion of volunteer work comes up here that how and what our hero did is that he set up a social forum by the name of Mustang Welfare Forum with college mates to help students & needy people of Baluchistan in education & health care. Mr. Qadir is also working to set up the 1st Girls Middle School in Killi Malik Essazai village of Looni area Loralai. Also helping graduated students of Baluchistan in finding jobs and decreasing the unemployment rate & to provide technical assistance in completing technical projects. Mr. Qadir is also bearing expanses of water supply scheme to ensure water is available to Killi Essazai helping poor students in completing their education.
Mr. Qadir Looni’s hobbies are Travelling and Cycling, as narrated by him his Ideal Personality is his father Mr. Abdul Malik Looni as he was the one who set up the 1st Primary School in Essazai Village in 80’s & from where Mr. Qadir completed his primary school. He also encourages education in girls & set up girl’s primary school in Essazai in 2000. He is icon of tribalism & “Man of Jirgah”, Social Worker & Pride of Looni Tribe. And his message for the youth is that” Concentrate on quality education”.
