Founded in Japan in 1936, Shotokan—literally translating to “Pine Waves House”—stands as one of the world’s most distinguished and respected disciplines of Karate. Practiced globally by millions, it is a art form that demands discipline, precision, and an unyielding spirit. Champions of Shotokan are forged in relentless grit, and in this global arena of elite martial artists, Pakistan stands proud—represented by one of its finest daughters: Miss Nargis.
Hailing from the resilient Hazara community of Balochistan, Nargis is not just a high-achieving F.Sc. student, but a symbol of hope, strength, and national pride.
Nargis’s passion for Karate was ignited in early childhood. Captivated by the dignity and vigor of athletes in their karate uniforms, she felt an irresistible pull toward the sport. Though initial hurdles and a lack of early resources delayed her start, her ambition never dimmed. With the unwavering belief and backing of her family, she took her first definitive step into the arena in 2010, stepping into the academy under the expert mentorship of Sensei Ghulam Ali.
By 2015, Nargis’s exceptional talent earned her a position with WAPDA. Her competitive debut in Islamabad immediately signaled the arrival of a major talent, as she secured both a bronze and a silver medal for her club.
Since that breakthrough, her trajectory has been nothing short of extraordinary. Dominating the 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th National Women’s Games, Nargis has amassed a staggering medal tally: over 40 Gold, 5 Silver, and 8 Bronze medals at the national level.

Yet, her vision extended far beyond national borders. Carrying the pride of Pakistan onto the international stage, Nargis has competed fiercely in global tournaments across the globe:
Every time she stepped onto the international mat, she fought not just for victory, but to elevate her country’s flag before the world. Remarkable in her multi-faceted dedication, Nargis also balanced her athletic career with direct service to her community, working as an inspiring teacher from 2010 to 2017.
For Nargis, true mastery is a continuous journey. Guided by the principles of her role model and mentor, Sensei Ghulam Ali, she remains committed to rigorous training, aiming to conquer even greater international heights. Off the mat, she enjoys cycling and exploring new ideas through research.
Her core message to the youth of Pakistan is simple yet profound:
“Prioritize and preserve your physical and mental health. A healthy body creates a powerful foundation for a vibrant, successful life.”
