Waqas Mengal is a prominent IT professional, youth activist, and social entrepreneur from Quetta, Balochistan. Born on October 6, 1994, he has dedicated his career to community development and youth leadership, bringing 18 years of invaluable IT sector expertise to the forefront of his advocacy. He is the mastermind behind “Balochistan Stars,” a mega project founded in 2017 to shift regional narratives. By combining his digital skill set with a passion for storytelling, he has led the production of over 1,000 interviews on a dedicated web platform, highlighting the exceptional talent and positive contributions of the province’s legends
As Patron in Chief of Balochistan Stars, Mr. Mengal serves as a motivational speaker and guest lecturer, signing strategic MoUs with universities to drive student development. Beyond digital media, he spearheads vital initiatives for peace, environmental sustainability, tree plantation, women’s empowerment, and cultural preservation. Ultimately, his vision is to showcase the hidden beauty of Balochistan to revive tourism and attract both national and international visitors
Mr. Waqas Mengal’s holistic approach to community development is evident in his ambitious projects, such as Balochistan’s first-ever personality-centered magazine and the Balochistan Stars Awards, recognizing individuals across sectors, All Parties Youth Conference, Social Media Festival. Despite challenges, he has received awards like the SATHA Innovation Award and many more for his relentless efforts and sacrifices.
