There is a unique kind of strength found in those who dare to dream beyond their circumstances. Dr. Heera Fatima’s journey is not just a success story; it is a testament to the resilience of a daughter of Balochistan who balanced a stethoscope in one hand and a hockey stick in the other to pave her own path.
Born into a Baloch family in Mastung, Dr. Heera’s life has been defined by a relentless pursuit of excellence. From being a top-tier student throughout her schooling to representing Balochistan on the national hockey stage for eight years, she has consistently proven that true passion does not need to choose between academics and sports.
“My parents taught me not just how to walk, but how to fly,” Dr. Heera shares with a smile. To ensure she and her siblings received the best education, her parents made the difficult decision to move from Mastung to Quetta. This foundation of support allowed her to navigate the challenges of the medical field—a domain where she often had to stand her ground and prove her capabilities in a male-dominated workspace.
After completing her BDS from Bolan Medical College and specializing at CMH, she realized her true calling: dentistry. It was a revelation for her—a vast, technical field where she could combine clinical expertise with the profound ability to restore not just smiles, but dignity.

For Dr. Heera, dentistry goes far beyond routine check-ups. She speaks passionately about the critical need for female dentists in a society where cultural norms often prevent women from seeking essential care.
“I remember a patient whose oral health had deteriorated significantly,” she recalls. “She hadn’t visited a doctor for years simply because she couldn’t find a female practitioner she felt comfortable with.” Moments like these, seeing a patient smile again after treatment, are what drive Dr. Heera forward.
Her work extends into life-changing rehabilitative care. Whether it is helping patients who have lost parts of their jaw due to cancer or treating children born with cleft palates who struggle to feed, Dr. Heera utilizes advanced oral appliances to bridge the gap between trauma and recovery. She reminds her patients that losing a part of one’s face to disease or accident does not mean the end of life; there are artificial substitutes and treatments that can help one reclaim a normal, healthy existence.

Dr. Heera Fatima’s future goals are clear and deeply rooted in her home. She is determined to make oral healthcare accessible to every woman across Balochistan. Beyond her clinic, she aims to raise awareness that saving a tooth is often possible and that modern dentistry offers solutions for even the most challenging medical cases.
As Balochistan Stars, we are honored to share Dr. Heera’s story. She is a beacon for young girls across our province, showing them that with hard work, the support of family, and an unwavering spirit, the sky is truly the limit.
