Empowering Minds, Shaping Futures: The Journey of Muhammad Azeem Khan Kakar

By: Ahmed Jahangeer Khan

“Nothing is impossible for a willing and contented mind; keep expanding your struggle.”

Activism at its core is a conscious commitment to driving social, political, and educational progress. It requires a rare blend of intellect, empathy, and sustained action. Hailing from the historic district of Pishin, Balochistan, Muhammad Azeem Khan Kakar embodies this multifaceted spirit—serving his region as a dedicated educationist, prolific author, political analyst, and former national-level athlete.

Academic Foundations and Educational Leadership

Driven by a desire to contribute meaningfully to nation-building, Azeem earned his Master’s Degree in International Relations—an academic specialization that shaped his strategic understanding of governance and civic duty.

After completing his higher education in 2008, he channeled his energy into academia, qualifying as a Federal Lecturer in 2009. By 2013, he was mentoring the region’s top academic talent as a professor of Pakistan Studies at the prestigious Tameer-e-Nau Public College in Quetta.

Beyond the classroom, Azeem translated his educational vision into institutional reality by founding Ilmia Academy in 2009. As its President, he continues to build learning environments that empower youth with academic rigor and critical thinking.

Political Engagement and Civic Leadership

Believing that structural reform requires active political participation, Azeem entered formal politics in 2014, inspired by the national platform of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Demonstrating notable integrity and humility early in his political journey, he respectfully declined the presidency of the party’s Quetta chapter within six months, citing a desire to gain deeper grassroots experience first. Recognizing his strategic foresight and organizational skills, the party leadership subsequently appointed him as the Central Public Relations Coordinator, a position from which he helped bridge political dialogue and public outreach.

The Power of the Pen: Authorship and Media

Azeem’s influence extends far beyond public forums through his extensive literary and media contributions:

  • Published Literature: Author of acclaimed books including IR For All (2012)—a foundational guide for International Relations students—alongside Waqiyat-O-Shakhsiyat (2013) and 696 Popular Quotes.
  • Journalistic Footprint: Contributed over 300 analytical articles on governance, foreign policy, and social reform to leading national Urdu dailies, including Daily Jang and Daily Mashriq.
  • Broadcast Journalism: Served as a television anchor with ROZE News Channel, bringing key regional issues into mainstream discourse.
  • Public Discourse: Invited as a keynote speaker and panelist at over 300 national seminars and academic conferences.

Sports Excellence and Personal Philosophy

Azeem’s dedication to discipline was demonstrated early in life through sports. A gifted athlete, he represented the nation as a player for the Pakistan Under-19 National Football Team, earning numerous collegiate and regional athletic accolades.

Grounded in his faith and guided by the timeless life of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Azeem views life as an ongoing pursuit of knowledge and public welfare. An avid reader and lifelong learner, his message to the young minds of Pakistan remains unwavering:

“True progress begins when conviction meets action. Train your mind, stay resilient, and never cease your struggle for a better society.”
