Driven by a profound passion for community service and academic advancement, Prof. Dr. Faisal Ahmed Khan stands as a leading force in Balochistan’s educational landscape. Hailing from Niganda, a remote village in the Pishin district, his journey reflects how vision and dedication can transform communities through quality education. Currently serving as the Pro Vice-Chancellor of BUITEMS, Dr. Faisal has spent years building platforms that empower the region’s youth.

Shortly after, he secured a prestigious Fulbright Scholarship to pursue higher studies at the Georgia Institute of Technology in the United States, where he earned a second Master’s degree and a Ph.D. Though initially inclined toward starting a consulting firm or software enterprise upon his return, a pivotal meeting with academic leader Asif Changezi altered his trajectory, inspiring him to dedicate his expertise fully to higher education at BUITEMS.
Joining BUITEMS during its formative years, Dr. Faisal played a key role in shaping its academic standard and institutional growth. Grounded in the belief that higher learning should directly serve local communities, he has consistently advocated for equal academic and professional opportunities for the youth of Balochistan.

He spearheaded the Quetta Going Green environmental initiative and played a central role in launching the inaugural Quetta Literary Festival. To foster institutional integrity, he launched the Honesty Mart model at BUITEMS with plans for broader community adoption. Additionally, he has mentored thousands of students through targeted career counseling, workshops, and motivational lectures.
His academic contributions have earned him global recognition. Dr. Faisal has represented Pakistan at international forums across the US, UK, Malaysia, France, China, Canada, and Italy. His accolades include being named a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE, USA), serving as a member of the National Technology Council, receiving the IEEE Karachi Section Leadership Distinction Award in 2015, and winning the Best Teacher Award at BUITEMS.
A scholar of diverse interests, Dr. Faisal is also a writer and poet. His analytical op-eds have featured in Dawn Newspaper, and his poetry has been published by Oxford University Press. Amid his demanding professional roles, he remains an avid reader and gardener.
His guiding philosophy for the next generation remains clear and resolute:
