Journalism at its finest is more than a profession—it is a sacred responsibility. It is the art of gathering truth, shaping narrative, and presenting public interest stories with clarity and conviction. While some journalists cover broad topics, the most impactful among them dedicate their lives to specialized, courage-driven reporting that drives real social change. Today, Balochistan Stars takes great pride in featuring Mr. Yousaf Ajab Baloch—an award-winning journalist, dedicated educator, media trainer, and champion of human rights.
Yousaf’s journey began in the serene village of Harboi, cradled near the historic city of Kalat in Balochistan. His passion for storytelling manifested remarkably early—he began writing stories and essays for children while still in the sixth grade.
Recognizing that powerful advocacy requires a deep intellectual foundation, Yousaf pursued higher academics with fervor. He holds Master’s degrees in both International Relations and Brahvi Literature, completed a professional certification in Journalism from Allama Iqbal Open University in 2009, and advanced his academic journey as an M.Phil scholar at the University of Balochistan.
Before establishing himself in English journalism, Yousaf contributed extensive editorial pieces to prestigious Urdu dailies, including Daily Azadi Quetta and Daily Asaap Quetta. Through his acclaimed weekly column, “QeqanNama”, he fearlessly analyzed Balochistan’s intricate social and political landscape. His insightful commentaries have also graced the pages of Daily Jang, Daily Mashriq, Daily Awam, and Daily Intekhab.
Expanding his footprint to international and English platforms:

Yousaf’s relentless pursuit of truth has earned him prestigious accolades both nationally and internationally:
“I am striving to become the voice of the voiceless through my journalism, while actively serving communities through educational and social initiatives.”
— Yousaf Ajab Baloch
Yousaf’s impact extends far beyond the newsroom. Alongside visionary peers, he leads the Human Prosperity Organization (HPO) and the HPO Technical & Educational Center (HPO Tec), spearheading youth and women empowerment programs across Balochistan for over a decade.
As Director of Phoenix Public School Kalat, he not only fosters academic excellence but ensures social equity by providing free education to dozens of underprivileged students through dedicated scholarship quotas. Furthermore, his vast expertise spans collaborations with national and international development organizations focusing on public health, vocational education, and gender equality.
Addressing the young minds of a developing region, Yousaf leaves us with a powerful message of purpose:
“Living in a remote region often means facing a scarcity of opportunities. However, our youth must rise as agents of change. Pursue higher education and professional degrees to build an enlightened, progressive society—do not chase degrees merely for employment or status quo, but to transform your community.”
The entire team at Balochistan Stars salutes Mr. Yousaf Ajab Baloch for his unwavering courage, journalistic integrity, and visionary service to the nation.
