Doctor an academic title that originates from the Latin word of the same spelling and meaning. The word is originally an agentive noun of the Latin verb docere ‘to teach’. It has been used as an academic title in Europe since the 13th century, when the first doctorates were awarded at the University of Bologna and the University of Paris. Contracted “Dr” or “Dr.”, it is used as a designation for a person who has obtained a Doctorate (i.e. PhD). Today Balochistan Stars is going to introduce you with a man holding this title for many years and through the tile serving the nation for almost many years Dr. Shabbir Ahmed Lehri, who belongs from the rich soil of Mastung, Balochistan.
Now coming to the portion that how he selected this field and how he came to this field is that his parents had a great desire in their hearts especially Dr. Shabbir’s father who always wanted to see a Dr in the first of his name and to see him as a doctor in his life. After doing his M.B.B.S in 1995 he started his career in 1996 and as narrated by Dr. Shabbir the difficulties and the most hard situation he faced in his life was settling and adjusting himself in Quetta the life style, the appearance and although it was a tough field so he had to work very hard and chase his dreams day and night.
Dr. Shabbir has been through many designations from the help of which he served the nation that consists of Medical Officer: Uthal, Demonstrator: BMC, Junior Star: Sundeman Provincial hospital, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor and now have the present designations of being Principal of the Bolan Medical College since 2 Years 6 Months, Pakistan Medical and Dental Council: Ex-President, International Association of Medical Regulatory Authority (IAMRA): Asian Member. He has the honor of doing many successful operations in his careers which were very high risk taking and by the grace of Allah Almighty he had successfully operated his patients and also he has the honor of becoming First Principal of Bolan Medical University.
Instead of all this Dr. Shabbir has also given his services as a social reformer and as a social activist. He has represented his country and waved the green flag of Pakistan in many countries from which some of them are Europe, Malaysia, America, Australia, UK and many more, as narrated by Dr. Shabbir “I think there would be no country left in my view that I haven’t visited and represented Pakistan my country there”.
Dr. Shabbir has been awarded by many awards which are uncountable for him; his room occupies less furniture and more awards of him. His ideal is Dr. Adeeb Rizvi, his hobbies are playing football and tennis and has also been awarded many awards on national level. His message for the youth is” The Youth of today are the Leaders of Tomorrow”.
