Balochistan, the land of beauty enriched with breathtaking waterfalls, spectacular deep valleys and mouthwatering fruit trees is also a habitat of pebbles and gems. Today Balochistan Stars is going to shed light on that jewel of this resource rich Balochistani who has always been striving hard for the betterment of this society. That personality is none but Mr. Sana Ullah Baloch of Balochistan National Party: Member of Constituent Assembly of Province Balochistan. Mr. Sana opened his eyes in 1971 at Kharan, one of the remote and deprived districts of Balochistan.
He got most of his education from the poor educational institutions of this so called province known as half of Pakistan (Balochistan). His educational journey started from Kharan where he completed his Middle, after that this person came to provincial capital for his Matriculation from Govt. Sandeman High School, F.Sc from Government College Quetta and done his graduation from Sindh Agricultural University in Agriculture Engineering. He also did Masters in Balochi and English from the University of Balochistan (UOB).He is the only Baloch politician got diploma from Stanford University of America in Democracy, Development and Rule of Law. Apart from these Mr. Baloch also has done many fellowships and political courses from World renowned institutions.
Despite of having a number of options for his career building, this person kept his foot in Politics in 1986 and became part of Balochistan Students Organization (BSO). Mr. Sana is considered to be among the founding leaders of BSO and has served it as Secretary General and Press Secretary in different eras. At the age of 26 Years he was elected as the youngest Member of Parliament in 1997, afterwards in 2003 he joined Pakistani Parliament again by becoming Senator on the ticket of BNP (M). But then due to some controversies Mr. Sana left for exile and resigned as Senator. Now in the recent General Elections in Islamic Republic of Pakistan he has won the honor of Member of Provincial Assembly.
Mr. Sana Ullah has remained part of United Nations for a very long time as a Constitutional Advisor. He is also honored to be Special Assistant from U.N for Framing Constitution of Somalia and Sierra Leone (African countries). He has been Guest of honor and Special Guest in different international conferences and seminars held in U.S.A, U.K, Africa and Middle East. Mr. Sana has authored about 3 Books and countless articles and papers in on various issues for national and international papers; his first book was named Mazloom Balochistan published in 2002. He is constantly writing articles and is honored to be youngest Balochi Columnist at the age of 17 in 1988. He is also a poet, loves reading books and literature.
Nowadays being Member Provincial Assembly his aim is to see Balochistan as a modern and developed province. He has passion to develop Kharan, his native hometown as a role model for other districts as he believes his hometown the first motherland deserves his first giveback.
On answering the Question about Women Empowerment Mr. Sana said that women empowerment is not only political representation in the Assemblies but we have to ensure equal education opportunities to each and every girl. Mr. Baloch stresses on the development of social sectors and improving Health, Sanitation and Education indicators in Balochistan.
Mr. Sana Ullah Baloch’s only desire is to see the Balochistan to be self-sufficient. In a message for the youth Mr. Baloch said, ” Our Youth mustn’t wait rather they should try and try their level best for every opportunity, they should develop leadership, writing and communication skills.“
