Women’s empowerment is the process in which women expand and recreate what it is that they can be, do, and accomplish in a circumstance that they previously were denied. Alternatively, it is the process for women to redefine gender roles that allows for them to acquire the ability to choose between known alternatives which have otherwise been restricted from such ability.
Today Balochistan Stars is going to introduce you to a woman blessed by Allah by millions of students and daughters of Balochistan, a struggler, a reformer of the society and nation which put her efforts, her empowerment in education sector, social reforms and in many other sectors to give back her nation and country Prof. Dr. Rukhsana Jabeen. She belongs from the rich soil and beautiful mountainous valleys of Quetta, Balochistan.
Coming to the basic building blocks of Miss Rukhsana, she gained her Primary, Secondary Education from Quetta, MSC (Plant Sciences) from UOB (University of Balochistan) and has done her P.hd and M. Phil (Molecular Biology) from Quaid-E-Azam University Islamabad then took Doctorate Degree in Plant Pathology. Not only Miss Rukhsana but her whole family belongs from a well known educational background and of background serving their nation in educational sector.
Her family like all other families at that time wanted her to be a doctor or a lawyer but as narrated by Miss Rukhsana she was very sensitive and even could not see someone in pain so she taught to choose education sector as a teacher rather to be a doctor or a lawyer. After doing her MSC she joined the education sector through PCS and as narrated by her clearing PCS from the grade 19 simultaneously she now has the designation of grade 22 by the platform of PCS.
She started her career first by giving her services of 3 Years at Sibi, then getting appointed in Govt. Girls Degree College Cantt and served for 2 Years; 5 Years of her services in Naushki as Principal and in the last joined SBK (Sardar Bahadur Khan) Women’s University first as Associate Professor, then promoted to Professor then to Dean and since 2013 is serving as VC (Vice Chancellor). As narrated by Miss Rukhsana she had been appointed as VC (Vice Chancellor) of SBK for a temporary time period but just after 2 Years but after looking to her sincere work and service,she permanently was appointed as VC of SBK and has the honor till now. After the year of 2013 she had struggled a lot to educate her nation’s daughters, at the time of 2013 SBK consisted of 1500 Enrollments but due to the hard work of Miss Rukhsana SBK at the time consists of 10,000 Enrollments. In her career she also has worked as Registrar Controller of Examination, Director Quality Enhancement Cell. She has produced more than 20 M. Phil, Dozens M.sc and Bs Students. She has approved 3 Mega Projects for SBK which’s rate consists of 81 Crore, 61 Crore and 41 Crore. Not only has she worked on the educational background of her females but also on her career counseling and she’s other utmost effort has been accomplished of establishing an Incubation Center at SBK so if some of the students wants to start her business she will be helped further.
Instead of Miss Rukhsana’s Educational career and services she also has the honor of Writer she has written more than 40 research papers in impact factor journal and also wrote book, her book has been published on International Platform and also has 15 Publications. Miss Rukhsana has presented her country and waved the green flag of Pakistan around the globe which consists of Canada, Korea, America, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and many more. She has been invited in many majorities of events with the honor of being Chief Guest, Lecturer and Motivational Speaker.
Miss Rukhsana has been awarded by many multifarious awards which includes International Civil Award, Presidential Award (Nominated), Best Teacher Award and many more. Her hobbies are Cooking, Singing, Sewing and Reading. She has a future plan of establishing more of more campuses and research centers for students so that education should reach every door and no girl can be left uneducated.Her ideal is indeed the last Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) and her message for the youth is ” We Cannot always Build the Future for our Youth, but we can Build our Youth for the Future”.
